I don’t think we drank any Russian River beer this week. Huh. Well, that’s fine, we’re still going to drink plenty of good beer. And talk. Talk about beer geeky things. And talk about someone getting drunk in a Target fitting room. Oh, and one of the interesting things that happens is, Matt makes us drink some things we would not like to drink. What a jerk. He does advise us of the most affordable places (with a good beer scene) to be.
Look at us, we have Drakes Brewing’s Brewmaster, John Gillooly, on the show!! John is a great guest, lots of craft beer knowledge, the dude has been around, seen a lot of things in craft beer. Lots of fun here.
We also have some sales rep … representation with Zack from Drakes AND our buddy, Rodger, owner and brewer at Pine & Palm!
Fresno legend and Blues guitar great, Bill Clifton, from Bill Clifton’s Chicken & Whiskey Band (and Mofo Party Band) joins us to talk beer and blues and drinking in Europe. Something different for us, good stories, good times.
Of course, we get to all our normal beer geeking foolio time too.
We have a New Matt to introduce to the show (he’s Industry too so it’s cool) and he talks about the craft beer scene around Sydney, Australia – which may be a first for us.. Plus, some dummy rants about Hoppy Lagers way too damn much.
What’s it like to be in a city when it gets Russian River Beer for the first time? We lived through it this week and we all have our stories. (Sorry, you gotta give us another week on this whole Russian River thing, we can’t stop)
A lot of other beer geek junk happens this episode. I mean, look at how long this one is, things got kinda rammy. There is even a special Dorktown Studio appearance. Block out some listening time and have some beer fun with us!
Sorry. We have been talking a lot of Russian River Brewing lately but you have to understand, we have waited a long time to be able to get Pliny and the rest of the core RR beers. As we stand at the edge of greatness, we take it in – that said, we had a Happy Hops IPA and not a Pliny…go figure.
We don’t just talk about Fresno becoming a Russian River town. There are plenty of other beer geeky things to talk about, and we have our first Urban Roots CROWLER on the show. Will it live up to our urban dreams?
It’s true. A Russian River Brewing beer will soon be in a can. Well, it will be a Colab Beer with Karl Strauss Brewing, so that statement is partially right. The beer will be called “New California IPA” and it will be exciting for those of us that can get our hands on a can of it. We are sure as hell will be looking out for it.
You can bet we’ll talk about this and many more beer geekin’ things on this week’s show. Please tap it here:
